Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the May 2023 meeting. It was nice to see a room full of excited members, new PIs, and investigators! Our speaker, Dan Corsentino, did a marvelous job discussing Employer/Employee Investigations. Here are some exciting facts about Dan we learned as well. On February 25th, 2009, Dan was Sheriff in Pueblo for SIXTEEN years! Additionally, he is a former Police Chief for Fountain, Colorado. Some of Dan’s specialties include: expert witness on police actions, threat assessments for building structures, and training presentations on workplace/university/hospital violence – just to name a few.

In case you were not able to attend, FEAR NOT! We are working hard to get the training video up on the website for all our members to enjoy. Speaking of training videos, did you know there are dozens of training videos going back for many years on the PPIAC website? Yep, just check out the Members area and you will find them all and you can start binge-watching them now!

We also have CIDI coming up in just one week! It is not to late to sign up for CIDI, just head over to this link (https://ppiacmembers.org/event-5192458) to get more information. This year’s CIDI includes 15 CLE GENERAL CREDITS too!

And did you hear the BIG SECRET about the 2023 Rocky Mountain Investigators Conference? No? Well, listen up, shhh, don’t tell anyone. This year’s conference features a FULL DAY of HANDS-ON OSINT interactive training conducted by none other than Sandra Stibbards. Here is just a little bit about what you will learn in that training.

  • Vulnerabilities and Protection of Business Intelligence Program
  • Open-Source Intelligence & the Dark Side Training Program
  • Internet Threats and Intellectual Property on the Internet
  • Identity Theft and Protection of your Personal Information
  • General Internet Security and Safety for our Children

Watch your email closely, we will be sending out all the details about the 2023 conference any day now.

Here is a quick Update from the PPIAC Chair, Jenn Brown.

The year is flying by so quickly! The Colorado Investigative Development Institute is coming up very soon, and we have 22 registered at the time of this writing. Word is getting out there about how useful and important this training is. The CIDI speakers are the best of the best, and most of them are our own senior members. I want to thank you all for your continued support and dedication to the CIDI program.

Planning is well under way for the annual conference. There will be an additional day of intense training on top of our already packed conference schedule. We will be making an announcement with more details very soon. I’ve been to many conferences over the years, and I can say that PPIAC’s annual conference is among the most organized and useful ones out there. If you haven’t attended one before, I encourage you to check it out. It is well worth it in terms of networking and learning experiences.

Recently, we welcomed Kala Penticuff to the board as a Senior Director at Large. She is enthusiastic and I know she will be a great addition. Kala is replacing Rachel Roberts, who has stepped down from the board due to having so many other obligations. I want to personally thank Rachel for all the hard work and dedication she has given the association over many years. We will miss you.

We are always looking for interesting speakers who will offer some great topics for our monthly meetings. If you have ideas, or if you are interested in speaking, please reach out to us.
